About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will bring passion, creativity, and precision to every dish, contributing to the restaurant’s commitment to excellence and consistency.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, cook, and present a variety of high-quality Italian dishes, including fresh pasta, pizza, grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables.
• Hand-stretch pizza dough and operate a wood-fired oven with precision.
• Operate and maintain the grill section, ensuring food is cooked to correct temperatures and presented to standard.
• Prepare sauces, stocks, and ingredients from scratch using traditional Italian methods.
• Maintain portion control, food consistency, and quality presentation across all menu items.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety (WHS) standards.
• Monitor stock rotation, manage waste, and assist with inventory and ordering.
• Work collaboratively within the kitchen team and communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service.
• Support Chefs, mentor junior kitchen staff and maintain kitchen cleanliness and organisation.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required
• At least two (2) years of full-time experience in a similar role in an Italian or comparable restaurant.
• Demonstrated experience in hand-stretching pizza dough and operating a wood-fired oven.
• Proven ability to make and cook fresh pasta.
• Proven experience working in the grill section, including handling multiple cooking methods and maintaining consistent quality under pressure.
• Solid understanding of Italian cuisine and traditional cooking methods.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).

Employment Details
Position: Full-time (38 hours per week)
Location: Parkside, South Australia
Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 per annum + superannuation
Work hours: Roster includes evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
