About us: Alive Catholic Early Learning Centre is a thriving 90-place Centre dedicated to supporting children's growth and development from 6 months to 5 years. We see meal times as an extension of our learning experiences where children participate in family style dining overlooking the kitchen area.

About you:

Certificate III in Community Food Services or Commercial Cookery qualification (preferred)

Food supervisor certification

Experience working as cook within an early learning centre is highly desirable.

Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for South Australia

First Aid ACECQA approved qualification – HTLAID012 (or willing to obtain)

Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect – Education and Care (or willing to obtain)

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced cook to complete a 9 month maternity leave contract on a full time basis starting in January next year. As a knowledgeable cook, you will:

Provide morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack each day for the children as per the menu

Act as the main Food Supervisor for the site

Understanding of children’s allergy and cultural requirements and able to provide alternative meals

Responsible for food ordering, stock control and maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe kitchen environment

Comply with the site's Food Safety Plan including daily and weekly record keeping as well as participating in the review and audit processes
