This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.
About the School
Camp Hill State Infants and Primary School is set across two leafy campuses: Junior (Prep to Year 2) and Senior (Years 3-6). The school is situated on expansive grounds and features a diverse range of play and sporting facilities, including a heated pool and two halls (performance and multipurpose). In addition to being a designated koala corridor, the grounds are home to a variety of native fauna. The entire school community is committed to respecting and nurturing our unique environment.
About the Role
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain school ovals, lawns, shrubs, and gardens, including mowing, watering, weeding, and applying fertilisers and insecticides in line with WHS guidelines.
- Perform general maintenance of school facilities, including furniture, equipment, locks, windows, and swimming pool upkeep (e.g., water testing and chemical adjustments).
- Prepare for school activities and events, such as exams, assemblies, sporting carnivals, and fetes, including setting up furniture and equipment.
- Support school security by locking/unlocking buildings, maintaining security systems, and ensuring compliance with WHS requirements, including safe handling of chemicals and tools.
- Manage waste collection, immediate cleaning tasks, and rubbish disposal, ensuring a clean and safe school environment.
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will not be required to perform any task or repairs that would normally require the services of a qualified tradesperson
