About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Insurance and Risk Officer to coordinate the City’s insurance programs and risk management activities.
Reporting to the Coordinator Risk & Assurance, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the City has effective and efficient insurance coverage, robust claims management, and proactive risk mitigation strategies.
This position is ideal for someone with strong administrative and analytical skills who enjoys working collaboratively across teams and contributing to business improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate the City’s insurance activities, policy renewals and coverage requirements.
• Administer insurance claims from lodgement to resolution, ensuring efficient service delivery.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain insurance and risk registers.
• Liaise with insurers, brokers, stakeholders, and City staff to ensure effective risk transfer and compliance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Risk & Assurance team.
• Ensure adherence to legislative, governance and safety frameworks.
About You
You’ll bring professionalism, initiative and strong communication skills to the role, along with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful, you will have:
• A qualification in business administration, risk management, or relevant experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating insurance programs and/or managing claims.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Intermediate computing and reporting skills.
• Sound knowledge of risk management principles and WHS practices.
• A current Driver’s Licence.
