At Beachwood Early Learning and Kindergarten, we’ve created something truly special for our children, families, and team. We're a proud family owned and operated centre offering play based educational programs in a beautiful, purpose-built environment that is safe, supportive, and inspiring.

Our purpose built centre is open from 6:30am-6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Including, Beachwood boasts 5 early childhood rooms catering for children from 6 weeks to Kindergarten. Our rooms are light and bright with room sizes ranging from a 10 place nursery through to a 22 place 4 year old Kindergarten.

We are passionate about providing our community with an exceptional service that not only provides excellent education and care but also nutritional meals catering for the growth and development of young children.

Our council registered class 1 kitchen provides a diverse range of fresh meals catering for the unique needs of each child's nutritional and dietary requirements each day.

About the role

We are recruiting for a Chef to work a Wednesday each week to prepare the children's meals throughout the day as well as support the maintenance and compliance of the kitchen cleanliness in line with the Food Safety Plan and council requirements. There will also be the ability to pick up additional hours during peak periods, or when the Centre Chef is away at our two services being Frankston South or Bonbeach.

We are looking for a Chef that can:

Prepare nutritious meals for our children, meeting each child's specific health care need or dietary requirements.

Enjoy engaging with our children and families and greeting our Beachwood community in a friendly manner.

Display good verbal, written and time management skills.

Flexible to increase hours as needed and fill in for the Chef when they're on leave.

A keen eye for detail with commitment to food safety practices.

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Skills and experience

Completed Food Handling/Food safety certificate as minimum

Current Working with Children's Check

Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates or willingness to obtain one

Experience working with children preferred but not required
