About the role
The North Burnett Regional Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our People & Culture team on a full-time, fixed-term basis for twelve months. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable experience across a broad range of human resources functions within a supportive and community-focused organisation.
You will work collaboratively within a small team to provide confidential, professional, and efficient administrative support to the People & Culture team across all aspects of the employee life cycle and other Human Resources functions such as recruitment, learning and development, Payroll and Work Health and Safety.
About you
You will be self-motivated, have initiative and be forward-thinking, ideally with a background in either Human Resources, Training and Development, Work Health and Safety, Local Government and/ or Administration.
You will have strong attention to detail and the ability to exercise sound judgement, initiative, confidentiality, and sensitivity in the performance of your work.
Additionally, you will have the ability to work effectively within a small team to provide quality customer service and build effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
Relevant qualifications are highly desirable.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Carry out general administrative functions relevant to the work area which are compliant with Council’s policies and procedures.
Assist with coordination and provide administrative support for the facilitation of staff training, including the Corporate Induction.
Assist with coordination and provide administrative support for the facilitation of recruitment and employee performance reviews.
Data entry and provide administrative support for the payroll function.
Data entry and maintenance of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and SafePlan system.

About North Burnett Regional Council
The North Burnett Regional Council is established as a body corporate under the Local Government Act 2009
The Council came into existence on the 15 March, 2008 following the Queensland local government reform process which resulted in the amalgamation of 6 Shires – Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Perry and Biggenden , into the new North Burnett Regional Council.
The elected Council is the law making body and consists of the Mayor and 6 Councillors. The administration of Council is headed by the Chief Executive Officer.
To assist with the delivery of services provided by Council, the administrative operations are divided into two Departments and five areas, each specialising in specific areas of responsibility.
