We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Chef to lead our established team in delivering exceptional events and dining experiences. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, precision, and a passion for to our business to ensure every event exceeds client expectations. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and an ability to engineer efficient quality food production and delivery in a large range of unique private and public events.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, inspire, and manage the culinary team to produce outstanding cuisine for a variety of high-end events.
Design innovative menus, maintaining consistency with our brand standards of quality and presentation.
Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Collaborate closely with event coordinators, clients, and suppliers to deliver seamless culinary services.
Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory control, sourcing premium ingredients, and minimizing waste to achieve low food cost percentages.
Monitor food margins and maintain food costs at optimal levels without compromising quality.
Implement effective staff rostering strategies to ensure optimal service levels, staff well-being, and cost control, balancing labour costs with service demands.
Maintain our kitchen and equipment to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience as a head chef, preferably within high-end catering, events, or fine dining environments.
Strong culinary skills with a broad knowledge of cuisines, techniques, and presentation.
Experience managing food costs, controlling waste, and achieving low food percentage targets.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities, including rostering and labour cost control.
Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards.
