About the role

As the Head Chef at Commitment issues bar and cafe' in Eastwood, SA 5063, you will be responsible for leading and managing the kitchen team to deliver consistently high-quality food and an exceptional dining experience for our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position that will see you play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary identity of our vibrant establishment.

What you'll be doing

Develop and implement creative, seasonal menus that showcase your culinary expertise and align with the cafe's brand and ethos

Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, inventory management, and staff supervision

Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and provide hands-on training and mentorship to the kitchen team

Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality control are maintained at all times

Collaborate with the front-of-house team to enhance the overall customer experience

Manage budgets, monitor food costs, and implement strategies to optimise profitability

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new cooking techniques, and emerging food preferences

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role, preferably within the hospitality industry

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team

Excellent technical cooking skills and a deep understanding of food preparation, presentation, and flavour profiles

Proven track record of creating innovative, high-quality menus that cater to diverse customer preferences

Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations

Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and control food costs

Passion for using seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients and a commitment to sustainability
