Transwa is the regional division of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) and a direct provider of public transport services that connect 240 destinations across the state, from Kalbarri in the North to Augusta in the South West and Esperance in the South East.

About the role

All Aboard for a Golden Opportunity in Kalgoorlie! Come join the team that keeps Western Australia moving! As a Passenger Assistant on Transwa’s Prospector, service, you’ll be the friendly face ensuring passengers have a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable journey through the heart of the Goldfields. From greeting travellers to lending a hand with luggage and making those all-important onboard announcements, you’ll help deliver a travel experience that’s as smooth as the rails themselves.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on providing quality customer service and enjoys being on the move. You’ll assist passengers of all backgrounds — from locals heading home to visitors chasing a bit of adventure — ensuring their comfort, safety, and satisfaction every step of the way. You’ll also help keep things running like clockwork: maintaining onboard facilities, handling sales from the buffet, and supporting the Senior Passenger Assistant whenever needed. You’ll need the flexibility to work outside normal business hours, weekends, and public holidays, and the ability to travel to and from regional locations when starting or finishing shifts.

We’re after someone with great people skills, a positive attitude, and a knack for staying organised even when things get busy. If you can chat easily with anyone, keep cool under pressure, and enjoy making someone’s day a little brighter, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. So, if you’re ready to be part of our regional team and bring your customer service skills onboard — hop on, Kalgoorlie’s waiting!

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Considerable understanding of contemporary customer service techniques and their application within a hospitality environment.

Well-developed relationship management skills, including the ability to develop a rapport with external stakeholders and resolve customer complaints.

Sound numerical skills, including the ability to undertake basic manual calculations.

Sound planning and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and cope with competing demands.

Ability to drive to/from regional locations for the purpose of commencing shifts or returning to Home Depot.
