Competitive remuneration packages up to $155,489 p.a. (package includes salary between $123,120 - $137,176 p.a., plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)

About the Roles

These two leadership roles offer an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to provide expert guidance and functional supervision for a team of professionals. These professionals are responsible for the arrangement, description, preservation and provision of access to a wide range of original collection materials including manuscripts and oral history in physical and born digital formats; or cataloguing of published print collections for discovery and access.

As a Team Leader you will play a key role in managing complex queries, overseeing and coordinating workflows and projects, setting team goals, allocating resources effectively, and monitoring performance to ensure the achievement of key performance indicators.

We are looking for candidates with proven experience in applying cataloguing standards, who demonstrate sound judgement, flexibility, and the ability to manage competing priorities. A reader-focused approach and the capacity to manage requests with professionalism are essential.

Knowledge and Experience

To be successful in these roles, you will have the following knowledge and experience:

Qualifications acceptable for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), Australian Society of Archivists (ASA) or other combination of qualifications and experience deemed by the State Librarian to be equivalent that meets the minimum standard of skill and knowledge inherent in the relevant standard.

Substantial technical expertise in cataloguing / arrangement and description and management of collections, and substantial knowledge and understanding of library or archive collections, policies and the information needs of users.

Extensive experience applying national and international standards relevant to collection management and a sound understanding of issues and emerging trends in collection management.
