Laboratory: Hobart Pathology, Battery Point, Hobart

About The Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Technical Officer to join our busy core laboratory on a casual basis.

The position will require you to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.

Weekend work may be required.

Working both in a team and autonomously

Tasks will include:

Quality Control

Sample handling across the disciplines.

Basic analyser maintenance and troubleshooting

Communicating with internal and external stakeholders

About You:

Appropriately qualified - previous experience in biochemistry or within a diagnostic laboratory would be advantageous

Theoretical knowledge of current biochemical testing practices

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

The ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision

An understanding of quality control techniques

Proficient, motivated and highly organised with great attention to detail

Great availability to cover a range of scheduled and unscheduled absences

Candidates must have permanent residency or hold valid Australian work visa rights
