The Position – 2 Positions Available
The Community Development Officer (Recovery and Resilience) strengthens the Cassowary Coast Regional Council’s capacity to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. This role focuses on fostering community-informed initiatives, facilitating partnerships, and supporting long-term recovery planning to build local capacity and resilience. By leveraging community strengths and engaging key stakeholders, the position ensures the region is better equipped to address evolving recovery needs and prepare for future challenges.
About You
Tertiary qualification in human services, disaster management, community development, welfare, or a related field.
Strong data entry and digital literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems such as Council’s ECM.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to engage with disaster-affected community members and build strong stakeholder relationships.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, deliver programs, and present to groups.
Current Queensland C Class driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout the Cassowary Coast Region and occasionally beyond.
