About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Workplace Relations Consultant to join our team.

This position has been created to strengthen our capacity to deliver high-quality advice and documentation in performance management and redundancy.

You will work closely with senior consultants who will provide ongoing mentoring and support as you manage a diverse client portfolio.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide strategic, commercial advice to clients regarding performance management, termination, and redundancy decisions
  • Guide line managers, executives, and C-suite leaders through complex people situations that influence the direction of their business
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation including warning letters, termination letters, redundancy meeting plans, and supporting communication templates
  • Advise clients on their obligations and risks under the Fair Work Act, NES, and related legislation
  • Help clients plan and execute appropriate meeting structures and communication processes — you will guide, not conduct, the actual terminations or redundancy meetings
  • Support clients in achieving balanced, mutually beneficial exit outcomes
  • Manage multiple advisory requests across a variety of industries and business sizes
  • Collaborate with colleagues in recruitment, investigations, and workplace safety to provide a seamless advisory service

You’ll act as a trusted advisor, helping businesses navigate critical employment situations while being supported by a team of experienced Workplace Relations professionals.

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate who:

Essential

  • Has proven experience providing advice in workplace relations, performance management, and redundancies
  • Is confident preparing formal documentation and providing clear written advice
  • Understands the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, and associated case law
  • Possesses strong business acumen and can influence senior stakeholders including line managers, executives, and business owners
  • Communicates with clarity and confidence, providing reassurance and direction through complex scenarios

Desirable

  • Experience with managing unfair dismissal, general protections or other types of workplace claims
  • Experience working within a consulting, advisory, or professional services environment, such as a specialist HR or Industrial Relations consultancy or employer association
