Are you a passionate physiotherapist with a strong interest in paediatrics? Looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with disabilities while developing your skills in a supportive, physiotherapy-led environment?

Flipper Academy is continuing to grow and expand our services across the South Australian Metropolitan Area! Our group water-based therapy programs focus on bridging the gap between hydrotherapy and learn-to-swim for children with disabilities, helping them build confidence, achieve goals, and develop vital skills.

About the role

You’ll join a dynamic team delivering tailored, fun, and evidence-based programs that target:

Water safety and drowning prevention

Development of gross and fine motor skills

Developing strength coordination through hydrotherapy based principles

Swimming strokes

Social skills and communication

Our Director brings extensive paediatric expertise from Women's and Children’s Hospital and Adelaide Paediatrics, ensuring our programs are of the highest quality.

This role is perfect if you currently work 20–30 hours a week and want to add 5–10 meaningful hours to your week, developing your paediatric physiotherapy skills and growing professionally in a rewarding setting.

What we’re looking for:

Passion for working with children and helping them achieve their goals

Strong interest in paediatric physiotherapy and disability

1–2 years’ experience preferred but enthusiastic new graduates encouraged to apply

Excellent communication skills with clients and families

Ability to work successfully with children across varying communication abilities

Experience with children with disabilities and paediatric populations

Commitment to a minimum 12-month engagement

Current AHPRA registration and valid Working with Children and Disability Worker Checks

Bonus skills (not essential):

Hydrotherapy experience

Learn to swim or AustSwim accreditation

APA Level 1 Hydrotherapy and Autism Swim courses

Neurodevelopmental treatment and assessment experience

Experience with NDIS framework and functional goal setting
