The Opportunity

As a Child Safety Practitioner, Child Safety Officer (50 (d)) or Child Safety Practitioner (50 (d)) you will work within a rewarding role providing assistance to families and engaging them with services in the wider community in the beautiful East or West Kimberley region. You will work to build resilience in children, families and the community which also increases social wellbeing. These roles provide varied and exciting introduction to Child Protection and the approaches to enhance child safety and wellbeing.

Staff in the Kimberley build meaningful connections with children and families, working in partnership to support positive outcomes. A significant proportion of the region’s population is Aboriginal, providing an enriching opportunity to work alongside communities with deep connections to culture, Country, ceremony and the arts.

  • 4 Weeks Annual Leave, plus additional leave including,
  • 5 Days Commuted Time Off in Lieu + 5 Days North West Leave after completing 12 months service in the region,

Which Position Do I Apply For?

Under our Child Protection Workforce Model, priority will be given to qualified applicants in the first instance to maintain a qualified workforce. Should a qualified applicant not be identified then this selection process will be used to fill the vacancy.

If you have a Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology or relevant human services area, please apply for the Child Safety Practitioner or Child Safety Practitioner (50 (d)) equivalent position. Refer to our website for information about the qualification requirements.
