Building Maintenance Officer
The Shire of Collie is looking for a reliable, practical, and self-motivated individual who excels at hands-on tasks and has a 'can-do' attitude. This person should enjoy daily variety and take pride in their work.
Key responsibilities of the position will include:
Perform general maintenance and repairs across Council buildings and public facilities, including carpentry, painting, tiling, plumbing (non-licensed), and equipment assembly.
Support statutory and planned maintenance of essential services such as fire systems, CCTV, emergency lighting, HVAC, and pest control.
Action customer service requests and contribute to asset management planning.
Ensure safe work practices and compliance with WHS legislation.
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate, proven experience in building maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, tiling, and general repairs. An ability to interpret building plans and understand standard construction methods, coupled with strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices, particularly in high-risk environments such as working at heights.
An attractive remuneration package will be offered including a cash component of between $73, 833.83 - $83, 561.48 dependent on skills and experience. The package will include commuter use of a motor vehicle and housing allowance if residing in Collie, plus other cash and non-cash benefits. Residing within the Shire of Collie will be highly regarded but is not compulsory.
