Perth’s one of the most popular Chinese restaurants – 857 Dumplings Plus, located in the busiest Western Australian suburb and foodie street – Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park. We are an extremely busy inner-suburb Chinese restaurant serving authentic, traditional Chinese dishes, including dumplings, xiaolongbao (soup-filled dumplings), and wok-fried dishes.

We seek an experienced and passionate cook to join our energetic team. The position is full-time, and the cook will be required to work late evenings, weekends and public holidays.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Hold at least Certificate III in Commercial / Asian Cookery

Minimum 1 years’ work experience in Asian cooking

Excellent cutting and wok skills

Consists of Chinese Dim sum’s skill is highly preferable but not mandatory.

Ability to multitask and work under pressure during peak service times.

A strong sense of teamwork and good communication skills

A strong work ethic and positive ‘can-do’ attitude

Responsibilities & Duties include:

Inspecting food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food handling practices.

Preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to recipes

Adjusting recipes and cooking to accommodate customers’ dietary requirements.

Operating kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently

Portioning, arranging and garnishing food to ensure a perfect presentation.

Storing food in temperature-controlled equipment.

Developing menus to use fresh, seasonal foods and meet special dietary needs.

Maintaining, and ordering stocks and supplies and assisting in menu budgeting.

Supervising and providing training to new kitchen staff.

Maintaining a high standard of hygiene, OHS & Food Safety procedures in the kitchen.

In return, we will provide a yearly salary between $75,000 and $85,000 plus super based on your experience and skills.
