The Company

We're currently partnering with a global leader in specialty ingredients and chemical distribution, to recruit a Purchasing & Inbound Shipping Representative for a 4-6 month full-time contract based in Cheltenham.

The Role

Reporting to the Purchasing & Shipping Manager ANZ, this role is key to ensuring that inbound shipments are processed efficiently and reach customers or the 4PL network on time. You'll play a vital role in supporting growth across the ANZ region by managing purchasing activities, optimising freight costs, and ensuring data accuracy across systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end process of inbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery and efficient integration into the company's 4PL network or direct customer shipments.
  • Maintain clear communication with Suppliers/Principals, Shipping partners, Logistics providers, and internal teams across Customer Service and Commercial functions.
  • Accurately track, monitor, and report on freight movements, ensuring all data is up to date and compliant within the Freight & Logistics (FNL) system.
  • Support purchasing processes - from placing purchase orders and tracking deliveries to allocating costs and maintaining compliance with company policies.
  • Contribute to cost optimisation across the supply chain by identifying efficiencies and supporting best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing & Shipping Manager to resolve shipping issues, maintain stakeholder satisfaction, and keep goods flowing smoothly through the network.

Your Profile

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in managing the shipment and importation of goods, ideally within a manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Sound knowledge of international import procedures, INCOTERMS, and customs regulations.
  • Proven experience working with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, and 3PL/4PL partners.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - able to liaise confidently across all levels.
  • High attention to detail with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable working with ERP or accounting systems; experience with JDE is an advantage.
  • A proactive, adaptable team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
