Job Summary
The Leaving Family Violence Case Worker position is to provide culturally safe, trauma-informed case management support to victim-survivors of family violence through the BRAMS Leaving Violence Program (LVP).
About the Role
The role ensures timely and appropriate responses to referrals received from Consortium members, external support services, or directly from individuals. Operating within a 12-week support framework, the position is responsible for assessing risk, developing safety plans, supporting goal setting, coordinating services, and ensuring victims are informed of their options.
Key responsibilities:
Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed case management support to individuals experiencing family violence.
Conduct risk assessments, develop and implement safety plans, and support client goal setting.
Coordinate referrals and collaborate with Consortium members, internal services, and external agencies to ensure a holistic and timely service response.
Connect clients with crisis services and provide support post-crisis.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records in line with organisational policies, procedures, reporting requirements.
Promote awareness of family violence support options within the community, contributing to culturally responsive and safe service delivery.
Ensure Adherence to organisations policies and procedures.
About you
Certificate IV in Community Services (or willingness to complete).
Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and commitment to cultural safety.
Experience in case management and developing family violence safety plans.
Knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal women, children, and families.
Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and community services.
Emotionally resilient with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Good time management and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
Essential
Working With Children Check (or willing to apply);
Current Police Check (not older than 3 months old or willing to apply);
Current 'C' class Driver's License (unrestricted).
