We are currently seeking Brisbane-based artists and educators who are passionate about arts education and working with children to join our teaching team.

Who we are

Speak Up Studio creates exciting Speech and Drama programs that build children’s confidence and encourage them to be positive about speaking up.

Our philosophy is about giving kids a safe place to be kids, to be themselves, and find their people. It’s an inclusive environment where families feel welcome and experience a little bit of magic.

What you can expect

This is a permanent part time job, before and after school Monday to Thursday (approx 25 hours a week)

Skills

Excellent skills in creative collaboration with young people

A repertoire of drama games & improvisation activities

Confidence in classroom behaviour management strategies

Excellent communication skills

The ability to be organised and work autonomously

Tasks

Teach weekly classes at Speak Up venues throughout Brisbane

Prepare students for performances

Mark attendance and report on lessons by 6pm on the day of the class

Attend training at the start of each term

Practical Considerations

A current Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one)

A current driver's licence and your own car (please do not apply if you do not have access to a car)
