About This Opportunity
The Technologies Teacher Aide has a critical role in the support of all College programs and activities in the Technologies Faculty at the College. This role includes in-class support and assisting teachers with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
Permanent part-time, term-time position
60 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday
Hours as negotiated
Reports to the Technologies Leader of Learning
Hourly base rate $34.1711 – $35.6211 + 12.75% superannuation + leave loading
As the appointment is a term-time only position, working term-time plus 3 weeks (approximately 40 weeks), all non-term times are taken as leave without pay other than the period of annual leave, which is taken during the Christmas school holiday period.

About You
To be successful in the role you will have:
A valid Queensland Working with Children Positive Paid Employee Notice.
Current and valid Australian driver’s license.
Experience in an Education Support Role in an independent school environment.
Certificate III in a relevant field or equivalent training and experience.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to build positive working relationships, with the ability to remain calm when dealing with difficult student situations and encourage students in their learning and social development.
Demonstrated flexibility, initiative and an ability to prioritise and multi-task to meet deadlines.
Confidence to work and develop technical skills in a workshop/studio environment, with a good understanding of workplace health and safety principles which apply in this environment.
Sound computer skills and literacy, with a working knowledge of computer programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience in Technologies, such as food, textiles, nutrition, fashion, design, and laser cutting.
It is a condition of employment that all staff members, unless otherwise eligible for an exemption, must possess a current Positive Notice or Blue Card issued under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 before commencing employment with the College. Volunteer Blue Cards will be required to be transferred to Paid Employment cards.
