About the role:

• Monitor, track, and analyse costs of various civil and mining projects against approved budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare cost control reports, dashboards, and variance analyses for project management and senior stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts in collaboration with Project Managers to ensure alignment with scope and schedule.
• Monitoring revenue and profitability across materials, labour, plant, equipment, and other project resources.
• Review project schedules in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 and report on cost variances and schedule impacts.
• Accurately input, maintain, and reconcile financial data within commercial schedules, including cost structures and budget requirements, to support quoting, estimating, and bidding processes.
• Serve as the main point of contact for project cost management, maintaining CRM records, supporting audits, client reporting, and communication on cost-related matters.
• Lead change management and continuous improvement initiatives, mentor staff, standardize commercial procedures, and contribute to personal and team development within the organization.

About you:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as cost controller or analyst within civil and mining construction projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge in project controls, pre-contracts, estimating, tendering roles within the civil sector is highly desirable
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with proven ability to analyse project costs, budgets, and profitability.
• Excellent proficiency in Ms Project, ERP, SAP, P6, and Budgeting Software systems.
• Ability to champion change, drive continuous improvement, and contribute strategically.
