We are hiring Emergency Services Officers (ESOs) to work in Far North Queensland FIFO from Brisbane or Cairns. You'll be providing emergency response and health support across mine sites, surrounding areas, and communities.

What You Will Be Doing

Responding to emergency incidents including fire, rescue, and medical cases

Operating fire trucks and site ambulances

Conducting drug and alcohol testing (urine and oral swab)

Providing first aid and emergency care until ambulance arrival

Assisting with training and supporting the site Emergency Response Team

Maintaining emergency vehicles and equipment

Supporting safety compliance and continuous improvement efforts

Helping manage gatehouse operations, inductions, and site training

What You Will Need

Certificate III in Public Safety (Emergency Response & Rescue) – RII30719

Certificate IV in Healthcare

Drug & Alcohol Specimen Collection qualification (urine and oral swab)

Valid Work in Confined Spaces certification – RIIWHS202E (QLD, valid 2 years)

Valid Work Safely at Heights certification – RIIWHS204E (QLD, valid 2 years)

MMQ Health Screen with Lung Surveillance

MR or HR Driver’s Licence

Ability to pass AOD screening within 28 days (can be done on-site)
