Your new role:

As the Clinical Nurse (Clinical Research), you'll deliver expert nursing care to oncology clinical trial participants while leading, coordinating, and supporting complex care delivery. This role combines clinical excellence with research leadership and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to advancing cancer care.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide advanced clinical assessment, planning, and coordination for oncology trial patients.
  • Support and guide Registered Nurses (Clinical Research) through education, mentoring, and supervision.
  • Lead clinical and research initiatives to enhance quality and patient safety outcomes.
  • Contribute to education, training, and continuous improvement within the Cancer Trials Unit.

About you:

You're a compassionate, detail-oriented nurse with a strong background in oncology or haematology and a passion for clinical research. You bring advanced problem-solving, leadership, and coordination skills to a dynamic research environment.

To succeed in this role, you'll demonstrate:

  • Experience in Oncology/Haematology nursing and/or clinical trials.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and critical thinking in oncology care.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to foster collaboration across the research team.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, professional standards, and safe, ethical research practice.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
