Your new role:

As a Clinical Nurse – Clinical Facilitator, you will play a key role in supporting the education, transition, and professional development of graduate (new-to-practice) nurses. Working within the Nursing Practice Development Unit, you will provide expert clinical facilitation, coaching, and support across a variety of clinical areas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing education, coaching, and feedback to graduate nurses in their first year of practice
  • Acting as a clinical and educational resource across multiple clinical units
  • Supporting the delivery of orientation, in-service education, and competency training
  • Collaborating with Nurse Educators, Nurse Unit Managers, and senior clinicians to strengthen practice standards
  • Participating in service development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Leading by example in providing safe, compassionate, and person-centred care

About you:

We are seeking a motivated and supportive Clinical Nurse who is passionate about education, mentoring, and professional development of early-career nurses.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (mandatory)
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to support others in complex clinical environments
  • Experience in clinical facilitation, education, or mentoring of graduate and undergraduate nurses
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaborative learning environments
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient-centred care
  • Postgraduate qualifications in nursing or education (desirable)

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
