About the Role

As a Network Operations Engineer, you’ll provide real-time and near real-time engineering support to Evoenergy’s Control Room and a range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in fault response, contingency planning, switching operations, and outage coordination - ensuring the network operates safely and effectively under all conditions.

You’ll also contribute to capital works planning, maintenance scheduling, and network performance reviews, helping to align operational decisions with system limitations and evolving network needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time engineering support for daily network activities and events.
  • Support fault response, load management, and contingency planning.
  • Develop and implement safe switching procedures and operational policies.
  • Conduct load flow and fault level studies to inform operating instructions.
  • Monitor abnormal network configurations and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with planning and delivery teams to align project and operational plans.
  • Prepare reports on major disturbances and recommend improvements.
  • Liaise with field crews, project managers, and customers on operational constraints.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferably with a focus on power systems).
  • Experience in a power utility or control room support environment.
  • Strong knowledge of network operations, fault response, and contingency planning.
  • Proficiency with engineering analysis tools such as PSS SINCAL.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, ADMS, GIS, and other real-time systems.
  • Ability to interpret network standards and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Understanding of DNSP regulatory and safety obligations.
