APS5 Internal Review Officer
- Location: Geelong, VIC
- Duration: 12-month assignment with potential for extension
- Pay Rate: $55.24 per hour + super
- Eligibility: Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement.
About the Role:
The core function of this position is to perform moderately complex to complex review work within a framework guided by legislation, policies, and established precedents.
The Internal Review Officer is responsible for undertaking the review of decisions regarding two critical areas: funding provided in participant plans and applications to approve or decline scheme access. You will prepare decisions for final approval by a delegate.
As an APS5 Officer, you will manage an active caseload of review requests, focusing on ensuring all decisions are provided in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with participants/applicants to gather information pertinent to review requests.
- Inform participants/applicants and their representatives about decisions, review processes, and appeal procedures.
- Prepare evidence-based decisions in accordance with the NDIS Act, NDIS rules, Operational Guidelines, and policies.
- Monitor and manage caseloads, ensuring that internal reviews are completed within stipulated time frames.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery practices, processes, and systems.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualification in relevant field such as law, social work, psychology, or disability studies or experience in the field.
- Certifications in disability services, case management, or legal studies are advantageous.
- Experience within the disability sector, social services, or related fields is highly valued, particularly roles involving case management, advocacy, or legal decision-making.
- Previous roles requiring information analysis, decision-making, and report writing.
