About the Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented APS5 Internal Review Officer to join our client’s high-performing federal government team. In this role, you’ll manage a caseload of review requests, analyse information, and prepare evidence-based recommendations for decision-makers. Working within established policies and frameworks, you’ll help ensure fair and consistent decision-making across complex cases.

What You Will Do

Manage and assess a portfolio of internal review requests.

Gather, analyse, and interpret information to support sound decisions.

Prepare clear, evidence-based documentation and recommendations.

Communicate review outcomes to applicants and representatives.

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance decision-making quality and service delivery.

Contribute to continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.

What You Will Bring

Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a focus on fairness and consistency.

Excellent written and verbal communication, including stakeholder engagement.

Proven ability to manage caseloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Tertiary qualifications in law, social work, psychology, or a related discipline (desirable).

Understanding of First Nations perspectives and experience communicating respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Sound judgement, empathy, and professionalism when dealing with complex matters.
