Queensland Rugby Football League Limited
Posted 12 days ago
Our Community Rugby League team is looking for an outstanding individual to join us as a Club Support Coordinator.
We’re seeking someone with a strong operational understanding of the community sports environment, not just a passion for the on-field action. At QRL, Rugby League is more than a game. You’ll help unite and inspire people through lifelong engagement in Rugby League. From grassroots community clubs to the elite level, you’ll champion the game’s impact across Queensland and support the growth of a vibrant, connected and inclusive Rugby League community.
What you’ll do on a day-to-day:
As a Club Support Coordinator, you’ll play a hands-on role in strengthening clubs and communities. You’ll support clubs to build strong foundations, develop strategic plans, and deliver great Rugby League experiences for players, volunteers, and their communities. Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, you’ll help clubs meet their operational and governance responsibilities while promoting the positive impact they make.
Some of the other responsibilities include:
- Work closely with Clubs and community stakeholders to provide operational support, guidance, and resources that strengthen club capability, governance, and game day delivery.
- Assist Clubs with strategic and operational planning, facility development, and alignment with QRL and national strategies.
- Review and monitor Club Health Checks and work with Clubs to address key issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the delivery of community events, participation programs, and development initiatives for players, coaches, and match officials to grow Rugby League participation.
- Provide governance, compliance, and policy support, including monitoring accreditation and registration, assisting with legislative requirements, advising on policy or rule changes, and supporting complaint handling and child protection matters.
- Promote Club achievements and initiatives through QRL and community channels, and assist with sponsorship, marketing, and grant opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Club committees, volunteers, community partners, and government stakeholders through regular engagement and representation at events and forums.
If you’re passionate about community sport, enjoy solving practical challenges, and love seeing clubs thrive, this role is for you.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Proven experience in community sport, club development, or a similar operational support role, ideally within a sporting or not-for-profit environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across Clubs and volunteers.
- Demonstrated ability to support and educate volunteers, coordinate training opportunities, and foster inclusive, well-run Club environments.
- Experience supporting governance and compliance processes, including strategic and operational planning, policy implementation, and regulatory requirements.
- Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and support event and program delivery.
- Knowledge of grant and sponsorship processes and experience assisting community organisations to secure funding is highly regarded.
- A current driver’s license and an understanding that Rugby League never sleeps and requires evening and weekend work, travelling to clubs to catch our volunteers!
