At Make Wines Australia, we produce premium wines from our McLaren Vale, Blewitt Springs, and Adelaide Hills vineyards for our Beresford Estate and Press & Bloom range. Located in the beautiful Langhorne Creek wine region, our fully equipped winery and laboratory is home to a wide array of products such as Galway Pipe, Andrew Garrett Sparkling Shiraz, and Three Oaks Cider. Our expanding Beresford Estate wine range includes the usual suspects such as Shiraz, Cabernet, Grenache and Chardonnay as well as several new and exciting alternative varieties.
We are looking for a full time, experienced Laboratory Technician to join our small and friendly winery team. This role will commence in November and will be ongoing past the Vintage period. Work is full time but hours can be flexible, with the opportunity for 4 day weeks outside of the busy vintage period and other adjustments.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our wines. Reporting to the Assistant Winemaker your responsibilities will include:
• Performing routine laboratory tests (Sulphur Dioxide, pH/TA, Alcohol, enzymatic analysis)
• Sampling from tanks and barrels, EWP training provided
• Calibrating and maintaining lab equipment
• Recording and reporting analytical results accurately
• Conducting grape and juice maturity analysis.
• Assisting with weighbridge operations during vintage
• Maintaining a clean and organized laboratory

Ideally, candidates will have some experience in performing routine winery laboratory tests including SO2, pH/TA, alcohol and enzymatic analysis. However, winery specific laboratory training may be provided for the right candidate who has not been exposed to this before.
Candidates will ideally also have experience from at least one harvest period in a winery or cellar environment.
