We're Hiring: Female Disability Support Worker

Location: HURSTVILLE

We're looking for a support worker who can assist in developing key life skills to enhance the participants' independence. The ideal candidate will be able to provide patient, practical support in the following areas:

A calm, patient, and person-centred approach to care and an energetic, engaging personality with a genuine passion for helping others

Assisting with basic cooking skills, including cutting ingredients and following simple recipes

Supporting with household cleaning, particularly bathrooms and tiled areas

Providing guidance with budgeting and money management

Teaching road safety awareness and helping to recognise road signs

Encouraging independence when ordering food in public settings

Helping to interpret social cues and build social confidence

Assisting with making phone calls for appointments and other personal matters

Supporting with writing and replying to emails, and building confidence in everyday communication

Reliable, professional, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

Must be comfortable working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, in line with their individual care preferences

About the Role
We're seeking Disability Support Workers to provide personalised, community-based care. This role involves supporting participants with a range of needs, from daily living tasks to social and recreational activities, including those with more complex behaviours.

No two days are the same. You’ll be working with a variety of participants, each with their own goals, routines, and challenges. Your focus will be on empowering individuals to live with independence, dignity, and connection to their community.

Key Responsibilities

Personal care and assistance with daily routines

Meal preparation and light domestic duties

Medication prompts and health-related support

Support with community access and social engagement

Working alongside participants who may display complex behaviours

Communicating with families, health professionals, and internal teams

Completing daily documentation and shift reporting using mobile apps

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in disability or community support

A calm, professional, and reliable approach

Excellent communication skills

Comfortable using mobile technology and apps

Current Australian driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (essential)

Availability across various shifts, including weekends

Desirable but Not Essential:

Experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours or mental health conditions

Knowledge of person-centred active support

Ambition to progress into senior or leadership roles
