About the role
As the Fault Management Officer, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Assets & Maintenance Group.
You will lead and manage faults and incidents across the V/Line network on behalf of Network Maintenance. The FMO will work closely with maintenance, IOC, and other key stakeholders to ensure reactive assets faults and incidents are safely managed and returned to service in a timely manner.
Key accountabilities include:
Lead fault management across Network Maintenance disciplines including Track, Signalling, Communications, Facilities, Civils, and Structures, ensuring timely and safe resolution.
Coordinate incident response, identifying root causes, managing internal systems, and escalating issues to senior management when required.
Liaise with stakeholders and third-party providers to ensure rapid fault resolution and effective communication throughout incident management.
Plan and manage emergency access to sites, including traffic management and contractor coordination, while ensuring staff fatigue is monitored.
Deliver performance reporting, contribute to business improvement initiatives, and support achievement of reliability targets.
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
Excellent communication skills, ability to collate and disseminate correct information quickly
Proven ability working under pressure and managing expectations from competing priorities.
Strong attention to detail managing data
Proven experience in ensuring the workplace complies with safety and environment requirements set down in legislation, standards and organisational policies and practices.
Ability to work shift, this is a 24/7 coverage centre, and ability to do cover over time shifts to keep the operation running smoothly
Proven stakeholder management experience, both internal and external
Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023
