As a Senior Communications Officer, you will play a vital role in crafting and executing strategic communication plans for key student events at the University of Melbourne. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams, engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, and contribute to enhancing the student experience by ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for major university events.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design and Implement Communications Plans: Develop and execute an annual student communications plan for key events in the Student Administration lifecycle, ensuring it is targeted, informative, and effective.
- Coordinate Event Communications: Oversee the planning and onsite delivery of student events, ensuring seamless communication with staff, vendors, and guests.
- Enhance Digital Presence: Maintain and improve student-facing website content, FAQs, and intranet pages related to student events.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work with various teams to ensure accurate data management and effective communication strategies are in place for student events.

You are an experienced communications professional with a passion for engaging diverse audiences, adept at crafting strategic communication plans, and thrive in dynamic environments where collaboration and innovation are key.
You may also have:
- Have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with significant experience
- Possess strong interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders
- Have a proven track record in drafting and publishing content across various channels
- Demonstrate high-level organisational and time management skills
- Are a strong team player with the ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions
