  • Permanent Full-Time Career Opportunity – 35 per week
  • Attractive salary ranging from $2,082.15 - $2,762.45 (dependent on experience and qualifications).

We are seeking an inspiring and strategic Manager Community, Culture & Libraries to lead the delivery of high-quality library, cultural and community programs across the Shire.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director Corporate & Community, this pivotal role provides strategic leadership across the Community, Culture & Libraries Division, encompassing the Moree Community Library network, the Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre and Community Development functions.

You will play a key role in developing programs and initiatives that promote learning, connection and inclusion, while ensuring services reflect our community’s priorities and cultural heritage.

Your remit will include:

Providing leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team delivering community, cultural and library services.

Overseeing operations and strategy for the Moree Community Library, Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre and Community Development.

Leading strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.

Driving marketing and promotional activities that enhance community participation and awareness.

Developing partnerships with Indigenous communities, rural stakeholders and state agencies to strengthen community wellbeing and inclusion.

Managing budgets, resources and performance outcomes to ensure operational excellence and accountability.

About You

You are a strategic and community-minded leader who thrives on building connections and empowering others. You understand the importance of collaboration, inclusion and cultural awareness, and are skilled at translating vision into meaningful outcomes for the community.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Library and/or Community Services, or equivalent experience.

Proven leadership and team development skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities and rural stakeholders.

Strong stakeholder engagement, partnership-building and communication skills.

A passion for innovation and continuous improvement in community and cultural services.

Ability to manage competing priorities, budgets and reporting requirements within a strategic framework.

A current Class C Driver’s Licence.

Experience in Local Government and familiarity with Library Management Systems or marketing and leadership qualifications, will be highly regarded.
