Full Time Mechanical Engineer Western Sydney, NSW

At Jaspa Food Pty Ltd (trading as SSS Foods), our purpose is to make good food accessible for everyone. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to review, procure and commission new equipment and maximise equipment uptime.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Mechanical Engineer is a key member of the team supporting the delivery of all elements of the reliability process. This position will have primary responsibility for mechanical reliability planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure the effectiveness of the maintenance and reliability function through workload allocation and control.

The ideal candidate will develop the team to improve performance to exceed targets in safety, quality, uptime, and cost. The role is also responsible for the integrity of all data and commissioning of new plant and equipment. It is a full-time position based in Western Sydney.

Salary will be A$75,000-80,000 plus Superannuation per Annum.

The ideal candidate will:

Initiate and assist with analysis on reliability performance data to identify areas of opportunity and drive the elimination of recurring issues.

Actively monitor the data daily for breakdown and corrective reliability trends, quickly identifying opportunities for improvement

Carry out root cause analysis for the continuous reduction of unplanned stoppages of equipment.

Develop the existing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for improved reliability.

Design, review, tender, procure and commission new plant and equipment.

Ideal Candidate:

Two year’s work experience in mechanical engineering within the FMCG industry

Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Exposure to lean principles for continuous improvement

Exceptional communication and leadership skills

There is the potential to sponsor suitably trained overseas candidates who curently reside in Sydney.
