Reporting to the Lead, Community Wellbeing, the Community Development Coordinator, Harpers Field is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating community programs, events, and services within the Harpers Field Community Hub and surrounding area. This role will foster and build partnerships, to deliver initiatives to improve community wellbeing. Activation offerings will be based on community need, specifically targeting:

Children,

Youth and Families;

People who are socially isolated; and

People not actively engaged in community life.

Key responsibilities

Co-design, lead, plan, implement and evaluate all initiatives, offerings and projects located at the Harpers Field Community Hub and surrounding space, ensuring all activities align Council’s Strategic Plan, Community Connections department business plan.

Design and deliver activations for the key demographic areas of Children, Youth and Families and those socially isolated, targeting the key focus areas of physical and mental wellbeing, eating well and social connection.

Evaluate each activation offering against agreed criteria, analysing these and preparing reports to demonstrate outcomes met. Identify, develop and foster working relationships with Golden Grove Football and Cricket clubs, local residents, relevant service providers, local businesses and other potential partners to build and strengthen collaborative partnerships to deliver strategic outcomes.

Manage, coordinate and lead volunteers who support the delivery of activation offerings.

Provide facility management and oversight of Harpers Field Community Hub including WHS, risk, compliance and curated hire.

Meet all outcomes and targets related to this role, as discussed and decided upon by the corporate leader.

About you

Extensive ability to drive innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives that have direct impact to individual and community wellbeing outcomes.

Extensive ability to work in partnership to deliver relevant, diverse and meaningful community wellbeing initiatives, including complex evaluation and review, in the areas of community development, community wellbeing, volunteering and grants related programs, events and services.

Awareness of current health and wellbeing issues and the determinants of health.

Comprehensive ability to undertake complex analysis of evaluation data and use to improve service offerings and meet community need based on co-design principles and demographic data, including interpreting community demographic data.

Strong ability to work under minimal direction in setting the outcomes for the work area, including working collaboratively with internal departments, external stakeholders and community members to increase audience reach.

Ability to lead recruitment and onboarding processes for volunteers and contractors.

Project and change management skills that foster a culture of positive engagement.

Well-developed skills in preparing grant submissions.

High level interpersonal skills that engage people at all levels in a positive manner.

Innovative and practical approach to problem solving and negotiation.

Astute political awareness.

Must have a current DHS Working with Children check or the willingness to obtain one.

Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment.

Salary range is between $91,908 - $98,028 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
