About the Position
Reporting to the Social Wellbeing Coordinator, this role sits within the Community Services/Active Ageing and Ability Team. You will develop and coordinate programs that promote social inclusion and enhance wellbeing, improving quality of life for older residents in the City of Onkaparinga.
Success in this role relies on your ability to engage with the community, identify social opportunities, and collaborate with a wide range of service providers to deliver meaningful activities.
Applicants should demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in aged care and disability services, with a focus on wellness outcomes and a strengths-based approach. Experience in service planning, program delivery, and volunteer coordination is essential.

About You
You will have extensive knowledge and experience in the delivery of aged care and/or community programs. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for working with the team and engaging with people from diverse backgrounds. Your experience in supervising staff and volunteers is essential, along with strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Your knowledge of community development principles and volunteer standards will support you in this role. You will have the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities to meet reporting requirements.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Program delivery and coordination – Demonstrated experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating aged care, disability, or community-based programs.
- Volunteer and staff management – Proven ability to recruit, train, supervise, and support volunteers and staff.
- Communication and interpersonal skills – Strong ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds, with excellent verbal, written, and advocacy skills.
- Organisational skills – High-level planning, problem-solving, and time management skills, including experience with budgets, reporting, and program documentation.
- Customer service and community focus – Commitment to high-quality service delivery, continuous improvement, and empowering participants to build confidence and connections.
- Knowledge and compliance – Understanding of community development principles, volunteer standards, and relevant quality frameworks (e.g., Aged Care Quality Standards), with the ability to apply equity, diversity, and WHS practices.
