Are you an experienced finance professional looking for your next opportunity in the public sector? This government organisation is seeking a Business Officer to join their Corporate Services team and provide support across finance, procurement, facilities, and general administration.
Your new role
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivables functions, including input into the accounting system, processing of electronic funds transfer (EFT), remittances and receipting.
- Follow-up of sundry debtors, administer the corporate credit card process and payment activities using the department's financial system, including monitoring, reconciliation, and review.
- Liaise with and provide administrative support to internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies, to support the effective delivery of corporate services and governance.
- Provide finance, business, and administrative support across the Office relating to relevant corporate functions, policies, procedures and systems.
- Undertake financial and administrative duties:
- Maintain administrative systems and financial registers, including contractors and consultants, travel and reportable gifts.
- Co-ordinate and advise on the department's purchasing activity in accordance with the department's Corporate Procurement Plan.
- Contribute to improvements in financial and administrative systems and functions; and ensure appropriate records management.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure maintenance requests, safety issues and other office accommodation-related matters are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience with Technology One or a similar ERP system like SAP is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using financial systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Previous experience as a bookkeeper or in a finance administration within a government or corporate environment.
- Confidence to approach senior members of the team and confirm tasks or direction if needed.

- The salary is AO4 $89, 137 p.a + super p.a (pro-rated).
- WFH offers 2 days per week at the Director's discretion, but this is not guaranteed.
- Flexible start and finish times must be on by 9:00am latest (7.25hrs per day - 5 days per week).
