Role Description

Thera’s finance team is positioned to support the ongoing growth and strategic direction of the company and requires a Corporate Accountant to play a key role in the production of financial, management and investment information for both internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to our highly experienced CFO and with exposure to executive management who are experts in their fields, the successful applicant will need to be comfortable performing in a complex and changing environment with an eye on the growth strategy.

The role is ideal for a proactive and practically minded finance or accounting professional, seeking an end to end finance role and who seeks exposure to all facets of the business.

About you

At least 6 years corporate accounting experience in financial services, preferably with exposure to lending or asset management.

Fluent in written and spoken English with well-developed communication skills.

Able to take the initiative, solve problems and a willingness to contribute to the company’s operations including in relation to systems and process improvements.

Ability and desire to work with other areas of the business including Credit, Legal, Operations and Origination in a proactive and practical manner

Experience in statutory and tax reporting i.e. financial statement preparation including consolidations, income tax, BAS, GST etc.

Good IFRS knowledge in the relevant areas.

CA/CPA qualified

A willingness to learn the agribusiness sector.

Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

Responsibilities

Preparation of management and financial reporting and consolidations.

Accounts payable and invoicing.

AFSL compliance and Registered Financial Corporation (APRA) reporting.

BAS preparation.

Management of auditor and tax agent engagements.

Accurate maintenance of books and records including journal posting, reconciliations etc.

Net asset value calculations.

Securitisation trust reporting and liaising with trustees and calculation agents.

Involvement in systems selection, improvements, and implementations.

Assist with business planning, financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting.

Liaising with internal and external (e.g. farmers, auditors, advisors etc.) stakeholders and customers as is required, confidently and professionally.

Contributing to the general functioning of the business as is required from time to time.
