Haverford Brands (and the broader Diamond Brands group) is seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the preparation of consolidated financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting in the financial management of the group's entities. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate and timely financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

In business for over 130 years, Haverford Brands is an importer that predominantly operates in the exciting world of E-Commerce. Based in Chipping Norton (South West Sydney), we currently supply a wide range of owned products throughout Australia, NZ, USA and the UK. Haverford Brands currently owns 12 brands and 24 separate websites.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Prepare monthly and annual consolidated financial statements.

Ensure compliance with AASB, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.

Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate external audits.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in accounting regulations and advise on their impact.

Preparation of workpapers and reconciliations to support the trial balance.

Ad hoc finance transactional support as required.

Intercompany & Consolidation

Perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminate intercompany transactions.

Support the integration of new entities into the group structure.

Maintain the group chart of accounts and ensure consistency across entities.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in the preparation and consolidation of group budgets and forecasts.

Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.

Collaborate with business units to gather financial data and insights.

Taxation & Regulatory

Prepare and lodge BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax returns, and other regulatory filings.

Liaise with tax advisors and ensure compliance with local and international tax laws.

Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements.

Process Improvement & Systems

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Support finance system upgrades and automation initiatives.

Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.

Stakeholder Engagement

Provide financial insights and support to senior management and business units.

Act as a key point of contact for finance teams across business units.

Assist with board presentations.

Team Support & Development

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the finance team.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CA or CPA qualified (or working towards).

3–5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a group or corporate environment.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero, Cin7).

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Must possess Australian work rights as visa sponsorship is not available.
