Your new company
Queensland's passenger rail network is undergoing significant transformation in response to unprecedented growth and emerging demands. In the next decade, various large rail infrastructure investment projects and system enhancements will be delivered which will change the way people move.
To ensure a co-ordinated approach in the delivery of this large rail infrastructure pipeline, the Department of Transport & Main Roads (TMR) has established a Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office.
The Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office (RIDO):
- Leads the delivery of a growing major rail program and has accountability for a state-wide program of major rail projects to deliver on the Queensland government's priorities.
- Ensures that TMR rail project delivery teams work collaboratively and engage with Queensland Rail and Industry to deliver a consistent customer experience that meets emerging customer expectations in a timely manner
- Allows TMR to build its rail-specific capabilities into the future workforce, maximising alignment between this new capability and TMR existing rail branches (Strategic Rail and Passenger Rollingstock and Signalling) to help deliver the rail program set out in SEQ Rail Connect.
The current significant rail projects RIDO is responsible for delivering are the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project ($5.75 billion) and the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Project ($550.8 million). These projects are key infrastructure investments ahead of the Brisbane 2023 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Your new role
In this pivotal role as the primary HR contact for RIDO, you will work closely with a nominated third-party agency to manage end-to-end recruitment processes for a significant number of predominantly executive-level positions.
You will ensure TMR remains compliant with relevant policies and procedures, while also fostering strategic partnerships to strengthen RIDO's talent pipeline and support long-term success.
Your daily priorities will include:
- Manage all communications with external recruitment partners and vendor contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and value-for-money outcomes.
- Train and guide hiring managers and stakeholders on recruitment best practices, tools, and processes.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior executives, hiring managers, and external providers.
- Prepare detailed reports and dashboards to monitor recruitment performance and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Manage resources and schedules to meet recruitment and project objectives effectively.
- Manage TMR HR system onboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions and candidate care.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure recruitment and onboarding activities align with compliance requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven expertise (5 years +) in managing large-scale, end-to-end recruitment processes at an executive level
- Strong ability to engage with and influence Executive and Senior Leaders effectively as you will be the key liaison to the General Manager.
- High level of accuracy in handling recruitment processes, including maintaining thorough documentation and meeting reporting requirements.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while proactively identifying and resolving recruitment challenges
- Solid understanding of public sector policies, procedures, and legislative requirements and industrial instruments
Previous experience in a similar role within QLD Government would be very highly regarded.
Please note: This role is 100% office based in Brisbane CBD.
What’s in it for You?
- 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension
- Excellent rate of $77.02 – $82.40 + Superannuation per Hour
- Full time hours – 40 hours per week
- Central Brisbane CBD location, easily accessible via public transport
