The opportunity

The Practice

The practice is a busy established specialist surgeon providing care for cancer patients in Western and Northwestern Sydney. The practice is based in Nepean health Hub with satellite rooms in Richmond and Bella Vista. Free underground staff parking is provided.

Duties and responsibilities

Currently part time (32 hours a week and must be able to work on Fridays).

Create a warm, welcoming and caring environment for patients

Effective management of patient bookings and billings using Genie System

Efficient and accurate management of patient data files, correspondences and accounts using Genie system

Provide quotations to patients on medical procedures

Co-ordination of theatre lists

Provide support and work as a team with the current secretarial and nursing staff of the practice

The ideal candidate must have the following attributes

Must have 2-year minimum secretarial experience in a medical practice or experience in healthcare and intention to become a medical secretary

Professional, warm, compassionate and caring manner towards patients

Excellent people skills to relate to patients, staff and health care professionals

Flexibility in work hours

Job share with current secretarial staff and provide emergency cover

Fast Learner, with attention to detail

Problem Solving & Ability to work unsupervised

Ability to work calmly under pressure & multi-task

Desirable Experience:

Microsoft Word and Excel software

Patient management software (e.g. Genie System)
