Amity Health are seeking 2 dedicated Mental Health Clinician(s) in the Southwest & Great Southern regions to join our Connections Count Program. Our Connections Count Mental Health Clinicians deliver evidence-informed psychological therapy and mental health services to residents of Residential Aged Care Homes within the regions they serve.
In this role, you’ll provide person-centred support to individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns. You’ll work collaboratively with clients, aged care staff, and health professionals to improve wellbeing, reduce barriers to care, and strengthen community connections.

Funded by the WA Primary Health Alliance, Connections Count provides free, accessible psychological therapy and counselling to residents in aged care across regional WA. The program aims to enhance wellbeing, strengthen resilience, and ensure older Australians receive the compassionate, localised mental health care they deserve.
About the Role
This is a meaningful opportunity to make a genuine difference. As a compassionate clinician, you will:
Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed counselling to clients through face-to-face, phone, or digital sessions.
Conduct psychosocial assessments, develop care plans, and support clients to achieve their wellbeing goals.
Collaborate closely with Clinical Nurses, General Practitioners, and Residential Aged Care Facility staff to coordinate holistic care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation, ensuring alignment with program and ethical standards.
Participate in supervision, team meetings, and local networks to strengthen service integration.
Both roles are part time with frequent travel to the region(s) we serve required.
- In the Great Southern the position is 2 full days per week (30.4 hours per fortnight), servicing the communities of Albany, Katanning & Kojonup.
- In the Southwest the position is 3 full days per week (45.6 hours per fortnight) servicing the communities of Bunbury, Harvey & Collie, Donnybrook, Bridgetown & Manjimup and Busselton, Dunsborough & Margaret River.
About You
You’re a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Clinician who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment. You bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or a Mental Health related discipline.
An active and current registration with AHPRA.
Demonstrated experience providing mental health services in aged care, health or a community setting.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients and health professionals.
A current WA Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel regionally as required.
