The Role

The Quality Assurance Manager – Western Region is responsible for working collaboratively with the senior leadership team to ensure Yilabara delivers high quality employment, training, and community services in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements including external accreditations. This is achieved through the implementation, monitoring and regular review of our quality and information management system; the development, implementation and monitoring of our internal audit program; annual reviews of our operational and corporate policies and procedures; staff training; and complaint and incident system development, monitoring and reporting. The role will work closely with our senior leadership team working across our remote delivery of employment services and a variety of employment and community services across western NSW. The role will have a core focus on building the capability of our staff and the overall professionalism of our services.

The role is to be based in our Wollongong Corporate Office

Core Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager are:

Work closely with our project teams across the western region to ensure we are delivering compliant services across all contracts.

Work with our leadership team to develop good practice forums ensuring we maximise the quality of our service provision.

Interpret, establish and ensure ongoing compliance with internal and external standards systems including ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and RFFR.

Coordinate and support the development of operational and corporate policies and procedures and ensure an annual schedule of review is adhered to in accordance with Yilabara quality system

Develop and implement an annual internal audit program using recognised audit standards and methods to ensure company policies and procedures are documented; comply with legal, regulatory, contractual and ethical standards; are conformed with by staff; and corrective action is recommended and implemented where non-conformance is identified

Assist with the development and implementation of improvements in service delivery quality including the development, testing and provision of training in new/revised practice guidelines across all areas of the business

Assist with:

The identification of training needs and development of training to facilitate compliance with internal and external standards, policies and procedures

Participate in the development, coordination and contribute to the implementation of an annual training plan for the western region

Coordinate, monitor, review and regularly report on complaints, incidents and feedback system including undertaking complaints investigations as required

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory obligations, legislative and contractual.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as business management, quality management or equivalent

Skills and experience

Extensive experience and knowledge of Commonwealth funded employment services including compliance and contractual obligations

Thorough working knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards

Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods

Highly developed written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

Proven ability to build, develop and maintain strong effective working relationships with senior management, employees and other key stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality

High level computer literacy with experience in quality assurance and risk management technology and Microsoft Office applications

Valid National Police and Working With Children Checks.

Desirable

Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of the cultural practices, values and issues that affect Aboriginal people in today's society.

Previous experience working across the Community Development Program or delivering employment services within a remote setting
