Senior Structural Engineer / Site Inspection Engineer

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Structural Engineer who enjoys both technical design and hands-on project delivery. In this role, you'll lead structural design projects from concept to completion, oversee construction inspections, and provide expert advice to clients, architects, and builders.

Working closely with junior engineers and designers, you'll play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage structural design projects, from planning through to delivery and inspection.

Prepare and review complex designs in line with Australian Standards and client specifications.

Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants to define project requirements and construction methodologies.

Conduct site inspections for various structures, including footings, slabs, retaining walls, framing, and structural steelwork.

Mentor and support junior engineers and drafting staff.

Ensure quality, WHS, and design compliance throughout all project phases.

Assist with fee proposals, project budgets, and progress tracking to ensure successful outcomes.

Drive innovation and process improvement within the engineering team

Requirements

You're a technically strong, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and building strong relationships with clients. You'll be confident managing multiple projects and contributing to both design and delivery phases.

Essential:

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) - Structural focus essential.

Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).

Significant experience in the design and delivery of residential and light commercial projects.

Strong site inspection and construction experience.

Proficiency in structural design software and documentation processes.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
