About Us
At Products for Industry (PFi), we specialise in delivering mechanical fabrication, installation, and maintenance solutions across diverse industries — including food & beverage, energy, industrial processing, and infrastructure.
We’re proud to support Australia’s leading manufacturers with high-quality, efficient, and safe engineering solutions. Our Service & Maintenance team delivers fast-paced, short-duration projects and on-site support that keep our clients’ operations running smoothly.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager with a hands-on mechanical engineering or trade-based background (fitter, fabricator, or site supervisor) to join our Service & Maintenance Engineering team.
This is a client facing role where experience in service delivery is key to success. As the Service Project Manager, you will work in the Service project management team at PFi, reporting to the Service Project Manager and part of the wide PMO delivery team. Over time, you will develop your core base of Clients and opportunities to continue to grow within our business.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of multiple small-to-medium mechanical projects, managing them from initial quote through to completion. You’ll work closely with our fabrication, workshop, and site teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
This is an ideal role for a mechanically minded project manager who enjoys being hands-on, solving challenges on-site, and building long-term client relationships. This is a fast-paced, quick turnaround project and service environment, with the role suited to experienced project managers who enjoy working with like-minded and motivated team members.
Key Responsibilities
Represent PFi commercially on small-scale projects and service-based scope of works.
Manage the full lifecycle of service and maintenance projects – from estimating and the submission of quotes through to planning, execution and closeout
Prepare accurate cost estimates and job scopes based on site inspections and client requirements
Coordinate technicians, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
Maintain strong client relationships and act as the main point of contact for service projects
Oversee procurement, scheduling, and risk management
Monitor site progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Work closely with workshop and fabrication teams to plan resources and materials
Drive continuous improvement through post-project reviews and lessons learned
About You
You’ll bring strong communication skills, mechanical know-how, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
We’re looking for someone with:
2+ years’ project management experience within the mechanical, fabrication, or maintenance environments
Practical understanding of workshop and on-site project delivery
Able to provide the internal engineering team with concept drawings and dimensions. Experience in drafting with AutoCAD or Inventor is preferred.
Strong organisational and coordination skills
Excellent client communication and stakeholder management experience
A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Project Management (preferred but not essential)
Why Join PFi?
Be part of an ever-growing Australian engineering and fabrication business
Manage diverse projects with real variety day-to-day
Competitive salary package (commensurate with experience)
Opportunities for professional development and career growth
Exposure to industry-leading clients across multiple sectors
