The purpose of the Assistant Project Manager is to support the project management and delivery of assigned civil infrastructure activities, such as construction, maintenance, rehabilitation and preconstruction projects. You will undertake estimating, tendering & bid management activities and provide operational management of civil construction works for roads and bridges.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Assist to project manage the delivery of assigned structures projects and activities.
- Assist to project manage structures projects within the business unit, including budgeting, programming, monitoring expenditure, controlling and reviewing priorities.
- Provide operational expertise to the business unit on operational matters relating to structures projects and or specialist areas.
- Implement and utilise project management techniques and management systems to assist in enhancing project performance.
- Identify, analyse and provide creative solutions for discussion with the Project Manager.
- Undertake contract administration of projects while liaising with the client, subcontractors and suppliers.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
- A current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
Desirable qualifications and conditions
- Certificate IV Civil Supervision
- Certificate IV Leadership and Management
- Certificate IV Project Management
- Technical knowledge of Traffic Management Design (TMD)
