The Role
Are you passionate about using the natural world as a vehicle for learning? All Saints' College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Outdoor Learning Teacher to assist in the coordination and delivery of our Outdoor Learning Program. Reporting to the Head of Outdoor Learning, you will be involved in both on-campus activities and off-site programs. We are looking for professionals who possess a range of technical skills and inspire good practice in the fundamental purposes of Outdoor Learning, embodying the values of our College.
This position involves a flexible working arrangement where we average the working hours (0.4 FTE) over the life of the contract. Candidates are expected to work full-time during busy periods, with the extra time given back during quieter times. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, operational support, delivery, and review of the College's Outdoor Learning Program.
Monitor and ensure the relevance of activities across year groups, aligning them with the College’s academic and pastoral programs.
Develop and implement in-field lesson plans using appropriate resources, including ICT tools.
Maintain and prepare equipment, report faults, and assist in the procurement of materials.
Demonstrate genuine care for the spiritual, emotional, social, and academic development of students.
About You
Available to commence at the College in late January 2026 you are a qualified, experienced and dynamic Outdoor Learning teacher, who innovatively and creatively utilises resources and technology available to you to provide an engaging learning experience for your students – one that reflects pedagogical best practice.
You agree with a holistic approach to education where learning is balanced with the pursuit of emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing, and can demonstrate your:
Familiarity with current curriculum and pedagogical developments.
Commitment to nurturing the individual student, emotionally, socially and intellectually.
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
Current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
Wilderness First Aid.
Current LR/MR/HR Driver’s License.
Royal Lifesaving WA START/Bronze Medallion or equivalent qualification
National Police Clearance Certificate; and
Ability to uphold and support the College’s Anglican ethos and maintain a current Working with Children Clearance during employment with the College.
In addition to having a high level of personal fitness, qualifications such Paddle Australia Flatwater Guide (Kayak/Canoe) or Top Rope Abseiling/Climbing Guide Accreditation will be considered favourably.
