Secondary Mathematics Teacher (7-12)

Heritage College Perth is a K-12 College located in the beautiful, tree-lined foothills of Perth in Forrestfield. We are seeking to employ an experienced, inspirational, and enthusiastic Secondary Mathematics Teacher. This is a 0.7-0.9fte role commencing Term 1, 2026. The role may include Pastoral Care duties with one of our combined secondary cohorts and therefore would suit someone who is passionate about teenagers and the unique challenges and opportunities which they face at this important stage of their development and learning. There may also be the opportunity to teach in a second learning area, but this will be considered to suit the strengths of the successful candidate.

The opportunity exists in this small school to develop:

a passion for inspiring a love of learning in students, in particular, teenagers

make solid connections with students that give them a different and more open perspective of mathematics

determine and manage the learning style and focus in subject lessons

coordinate Mathematics extension and challenge classes for able Primary students

influence the building of a whole school Mathematics approach by giving support and direction to the primary sector

Selection Criteria:

Suitable applicants should ideally be able to demonstrate:

Teaching & Learning Expectations

familiarity with the content of the WA Mathematics Curriculum as prescribed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority of Western Australia, especially with changes to be implemented in 2026

successful experience in teaching Mathematics to Secondary students (Yr7-10), including Yr 11-12 ATAR (Applications, Methods) and General (Essential) courses.

experience in teaching ATAR Specialist would be an advantage.

Qualifications & Legal Expectations

appropriate educational qualifications and demonstrated educational experience at a Secondary School level

current registration with the TRBWA or ability to gain registration by 2026

current Working with Children Check and WA Police Clearance or ability to obtain these
