About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at our acclaimed Stuyvesants House Restaurant in Crows Nest, NSW. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu development, inventory management, staff supervision, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

Develop and implement creative, seasonal menus that showcase the best of local and seasonal produce

Manage and mentor a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and high-quality standards

Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and budgeting to maintain profitability

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen

Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or equivalent role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel

Proven track record of developing and implementing innovative and on-trend menus

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure

Thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations

Passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients and creating exceptional dining experiences
